Optimist Club

TOWN & COUNTRY OPTIMIST CLUB

The Town & Country Optimist Club is a non-profit organization formed in 1974 by a group of North Austin parents to offer youth sports. The Club promotes the ideals of Optimist International and supports the North Austin area by providing quality youth sports facilities and programs. Club goals are to provide opportunities for all who wish to participate and to promote an environment of learning and sportsmanship in all activities. The Club also supports youth development through involvement in selected youth-oriented community activities.

Over the years, foresighted members acquired ninety five acres of land that is now the T&C Sports campus. The facility is owned by the Town and Country Optimist Club, and operated by the Town and Country Optimist Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, under the brand name of T&C Sports.

The T&C Sports campus is Texas’ largest private youth sports facility, with 95 acres, 30 playing fields, serving more than 5,000 kids each year across seven sports programs.

OPTIMIST CREED

Promise Yourself

  • To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
  • To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
  • To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
  • To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
  • To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.
  • To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
  • To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
  • To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
  • To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
  • To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
